The Girls’ Guide to a Weekend in Dublin
There’s a particular magic to Dublin that reveals itself when you don’t rush it.
This is a city best experienced between sips of coffee, slow walks through Georgian streets, and evenings that stretch a little longer than planned because the music was too good to leave. Whether this is your first visit or a return trip, this long weekend itinerary is designed to help you feel Dublin—not just see it. It’s been over a decade since I moved back to Chicago from Dublin, but it still feels like home from the moment the plane touches down.
Think: gentle mornings, iconic sights without overwhelm, and cozy pubs where conversation comes easily.
Friday: Arrival + A Gentle Introduction
Arrive in Dublin and resist the urge to power through your to‑do list. Today is about landing softly.
After checking into your hotel near St. Stephen’s Green, Grafton Street, or Merrion Square, head outside and let the city greet you. A walk through St. Stephen’s Green is the perfect antidote to travel fatigue—lush paths, locals on lunch break, and that first deep exhale that says, I’m really here.
From there, wander up Grafton Street, where buskers set the soundtrack for your weekend. Pop into the Irish Design Shop or Powerscourt Townhouse Centre for beautiful, meaningful souvenirs that feel more personal than a postcard.

Dublin rewards those who slow down. This weekend isn’t about checking boxes—it’s about creating space for connection, conversation, and that unmistakable feeling of being fully present.
If you let it, Dublin meets you right where you are.
